Monuments

This home page will provide you with the possibility of becoming acquainted with a large number of the many monuments, statues and memorials to be found in and around Copenhagen, in parks, in squares and in streets wide and narrow.

Here, you can find the monuments belonging to Copenhagen Municipality, from the Little Mermaid to Niels Juel, from the Dragon Fountain on Town Hall Square to the fountain sculpture “The House that Rains” in Sankt Hans Torv. Walk around and explore this vast array, or use the search facilities to find the very monument you want to know more about.

In this home page, you can find concrete information and brief anecdotes relating to the individual works, and you can also familiarise yourself with them through descriptions and photos. If you want to know more, send us your questions by e-mail. We will do our best to satisfy your curiosity.

P.S. As the person responsible for looking after the monuments, I would be grateful for any information about vandalism or graffiti on either the monuments or the plinths.

We hope you will enjoy making your discoveries.
