Description

The Neapolitan fisher boy can be recognised by the characteristic Phrygian cap. The naked boy has been fetching water in a pitcher. The medallion in a chain around his neck was the ordinary Catholic's talisman, usually furnished with an image of Our Lady. A lizard near the foot of the tree trunk completes the genre piece from the South.
