Description

The abstract figure is in the form of a large organic shape that has been obliquely cut in two and the two parts put together again in such a way that they are skewed in relation to each other.

The French title for the sculpture, “Coupe au fruit” or “Coupe de fruit” can on the one hand mean fruit bowl and on the other refer to a fruit that has been cut in two, which is more suited to the appearance of this piece. The current Danish title, “Skålfrugt” derives from the German title “Schalfrucht”.

The sculpture was unveiled on 19 November 1979 on the centenary of the founding of the Albertina Foundation
