"Twilight Approaching" is one of the most important works by the Swedish sculptor Aron Jerndahl. It represents a peasant leaning on his spade after the day's work. He is stroking his beard and looking at what he has done during the day, with his hat on his head and his bag over his shoulder, ready to go home from the field.
